How to fill OMR Sheets?

The OMR sheets contain bubbles, boxes or circles. Students or candidates have to fill these bubbles. However, there are some rules that one has to follow while filling these bubbles. These rules are important to make sure that the sheets are accurately by the OMR software.

Filling the OMR Bubbles

• The OMR sheets can be filled using HB pencil or blue/black ball point pen. However, read the instructions provided on the OMR sheet to know what you need to use.
• Ink pens and gel pens should be avoided as these can blot or spill on the sheet, ruining the entire paper.
• The bubbles should be filled completely. The software may not be able to read under-filled or over-filled bubbles
• It is important to make sure that the marks on the bubbles are dark. This will help the software to read the marks easily.
• If more than one answer option is marked for one question, the answer will be considered wrong and you would not get any marks, unless multiple answers are expected in the question.

Restricted Areas on OMR Sheets

• One must refrain from writing on, over or around the index points. Any marks on or near the index points can become the cause of inaccurate reading.
• Do not write in the areas where you will see 'DO NOT WRITE' signs.
• Make sure that there are no stray marks or rough work on the OMR sheet.

Erasing on OMR Sheets

• It is not possible to erase the marks made on the OMR sheets if you have used pen to fill the sheets.
• In case of pencil, the marks can be erased using a good eraser. However, you have to make sure that there are no smudges or partially erased marks on the sheet. The highly sensitive OMR software may read smudge marks as answer marks.
• One should refrain from using blade or whitener to remove or hide the marks made on the OMR sheets with pen.

• It is improper to punch holes on the OMR sheets or tie them.
• One must refrain from crushing or folding the OMR sheet.
